Bummer. I think we can only add one choice to the poll . I don't know how to choose as I have more than one in addition to those you mentioned.

PM me with a name and I'll add it. Of course I think that distance is nuts, but that's okay. Much respect for any one who does it...

Pseudoyams is there so long as he can keep it in his pants and not have kids bog down his training efforts.  10:16 time at MOO in first IM attempt.  Great kid too (yeah, I can call ya kid cuz Im 9 years older)

Joel should get it at FL even though that is not a public goal.  He's just on form and should easily be able to hit it.  I voted for them all and added you as well Fred.  You could get there pretty easily with the effort level you are putting out and some more focused, faster paced running.

(And thanks to all who have put a vote of confidence in me.  I'm trying, we'll just see if I can get there).

Well, honestly, you were already there but passed up a slot, so you don't even need to be on the list as it is yours for the taking whenever you want it.

Ya know funny you say that. You really never know what the future has in store. That's why I try not to take any of this for granted.

But 2008 would be fun on the big island...

OMG! WOW! You guys, thanks sooo much! I am so honored that some people actually feel I deserve to be on the same list as those guys listed above me.  It means a lot, especially because you all know it's something I really want.  I hope to do you proud...just don't expect to see it happen for a few years .

I definitely think Aaron's on the way.  Another couple of cracks at it and he'll have it locked.

I added Baaab Stocks to the list.  He outswam a large number of pros, out biked Hillary for 110 miles, and would have crushed the marathon if he hadn't gotten foolish with is hay-bailing the week before Moo.

I wanted to add I think some women need to be on the list....I think there are some that could qualify...not so many are public about their desire to Kona qualify though....just a couple that come to mind are:

Isis54 she places at most tris she does and has her sights on IMLP '09 when she'll be in the 55-59 AG.

Lauren has the talent, drive and desire as well as smart about her training....she is young and has lots of time to develop even more.

Great, here I am trying to finish my packing and Fred makes this cool post! Just when I thought I was free, he pull's me back in!
On the near term, rstocks is right there and Daremo is going to be after IMFL next month. Next year, JeeFleep has good shot at IMAZ if he can get in the training over the winter, but he needs to pick up about 45min. I don't know when Bikerunner go's again but he's got the pace.
Now I have to go post in the JhonnyKay thread...DAMN!!!

I gotta give my vote to Bob (rstocks3) that man knows his stuff and is the real deal. His showing at Musselman HIM was incredible and I'm sure Wisconsin was just the beginning for this long course stud.

Alright, here goes: Daremo, PennState, gadzinm, rstocks, pseudoyams, Joel, birkie and Fleeb. Some of them will make it before others; I'm not going to make my predictions.

Additionally, here's my list of those not yet mentioned:

thegomer - my boy can swim, he's been rocking the bike lately, and once he gets his run under control, he'll definitely KQ. I'm not sure of his goals, but I don't see him giving up anytime soon.

JohnnyKay - I don't think this will happen in the very near future as he really does make his family a priority, but I think we'll eventually see him at Kona...and it won't be via the lottery. it might be a few AGs from now, but he'll be there

jazz82482 - I don't think she's interested/focused on doing the IM distance at this time as she has other stuff going on in life, like pursuing her PhD, but I think that if/when she gives it a shot, we'll see her at Kona...or she might get there via a 70.3

amiine - he's gonna be an old man soon, and I predict he'll soon take a break from racing (or at least not in it the way he is now) or he'll make the jump to IM distance, with a KQ to follow; I'm leaning more towards the whole IM thing

Man, you completely missed the two young guns on the site. Jordan Knapman is rediculously fast. And let's not forget about GoCorey..he was a very solid BT'er for the last couple years, and has since graduated into the US Olympic Jr. program.

Both these boys are rocketships. Stand the hell back.

Not to get all nitpicky, but we you say "future" how far out are we talking? Given 20 years, I may qualify in the 60-65 age group.

Near term, like within the next couple of years:

JeepFleeb: I've seen his training log a few times just to see how the other half trains. The man puts in some killer training hours.

Daremo: I agree that he's a fiend on the bike. Swimming may be a problem.

Fred: Given your career choice, your biggest limiter is training time. Despite that, you get your training in, letting the rest of us know that "I don't have time to train" is a BS excuse. I'd like to see you get in on sheer determination.
