Due to my hysterectomy 6 weeks ago, I only did the 1-mile family fun walk at the race this year. It was a pretty chilly morning (low 40's), but warmed up and turned into a beautiful day. Radio estimates were 33,000 participants this year (wow!) and I think almost all of them did the walk, evidenced by the very slow pace. It was great walking with my sister-in-law (who was diagnosed this year with breast cancer), her daughter, 5-week old grandson and various friends. My SIL and I have vowed to run the 5K together next year!
