Fl. IM sign up 2008

Last year online registration closed in roughly 45 minutes. I was lucky enough to register both my wife and myself within that timeframe, but it was close. (Active.com slows to a crawl when that many people are signing in for a slot.)

If you are ready to sign on when registration opens, I bet you will be okay ... but registering in person is your only sure-thing.

Entry Procedure for Ford Ironman Florida:
-Athletes registered for the current year’s event can register for the following year’s event on the Friday before the race. Athletes can only register themselves.
-Registration will be from 9-11 AM. This timeframe will be for athletes only, so they don’t have to worry about the next year’s registration or stand in line after having raced.
-Day after registration will be only for people to register themselves, they will not be allowed to register a friend at all at any NAS events in the future. Anyone can register themselves at this time.
-Whatever is left for general entry will be done via Active.com usually opening at 11 AM local race site time.

Last year, I was logged in to Active.com by 10:45 AM (East Coast Time) and prepared to type like mad when registration opened at 11 AM. It was like buying concert tickets to see the Rolling Stones playing at a small venue.

I will be in Line as well!!! Hopefully not with a 6 pack maybe a bloody mary
