Yea, the funny part is that they sent the email stating that I had been dropped from the race 6 minutes before sending another email to me saying that the course had been extended.

Tell me that wasn't a big F-you for complaining. ROFL!! That was about the most immature thing I can think of.

I'm honestly relieved because I was looking more forward to the Tour De Tucson but have been REALLY strapped for cash.

Sad to see Chris out and Paulette stiffled.  Do still think Jeff got carried away be the complaints and did not address them well, rather took the easy way out of "refund them"  kinda like F*ck them for having the nerve to be upset.

Jerry, he flat out told you in the email he sent that he'd RATHER you drop out of the race because you told him you were disappointed and felt overcharged.  So no, he wasn't just pissed at me.

They tried to snake something by on the athletes by not saying "Hey people, Tempe isn't working with us so we had to shorten it yet again. We're working to have it extended 7 miles, but if that doesn't happen, we will try to come up with some kind of compensation because of the course change."

Instead, they tried to hide the change in the athlete's packet and not say anything. If they had ANY intention of getting it extended those 7 miles, they wouldn't have made that whole packet up the day before the extension. They would have waited another day or two. At the very least, they would have said it was a "tentative" course, dependent on what Tempe decides.

I feel it was because of people like me who complained that got the course changed. I'm happy and would do it all over again.  If anybody feels that what I did was "immature", or "unprofessional", well I'm sorry but we're going to have to agree to disagree.  I feel those adjectives apply to Redrockco.

Just to be clear, I never used the terms "immature", or "unprofessional".  I was simply stating my opinion, just as you all have been.

I feel this topic is now starting to pull us apart, and that's a shame. I think we need to move past it, knowing we all have differing opinions on it, and let's just try to enjoy the race and look forward to the Tour.

I agree.  It all turned out fine.  It's really not a big deal.  I was unhappy with the product I was receiving and was refunded my money.

Now go kick some butt!!!!

She is Hot, has opinions, and kicks hiney in Tri's!  Does that make her a triple threat?  Is there an award for that that she is bucking for?

Chris - Keep in mind that even if you get saddle soars you are doing the Tour with me so go register!

OK...you two can stop now. I can't even deal with the fact that I am someone's mother, let alone that I could be a grandmother some day!! Although, the way my little perv is going, it will probably happen sooner than I would like!

*IF* I'm lucky!!

ON a similar note, every time we go by some laborer in the hot sun laying roof tiles, or digging ditches, etc.....I point out those are the sucky, back breaking, hot jobs you have to do when you don't go to college.  They are very hard physically and you don't get paid much. (I know all of this is not entirely true in every case.....but I am just trying to drill into his little brain NOW that life will suck if you don't get SOME extra schooling).

He has already decided a technical college would be better for him, so he doesn't have to learn "extra crap." And that he wants to go for graphic or video game design.  Either that, or he wants to be an animal handler at Pete and Mac's kennel. I said you should strive to OWN a Pete and Macs. Nope....just wanna work there. (HELP!)

Make him feed/water the dog every day and pick up all the poop.  Then tell him he'd have to do that for 30 dogs EVERY day

OMG my petsitter USED to work at Pete and Mac's before she started her OWN business. She all the time about how awful it is there!!! I will schedule them an interview together so he knows. I love how your son has these lofty goals! At least he has SOME goals...could be worse right?

You should take him down to the unemployment office and show him all the 40 and 50 somethings who were fired because their fresh young backs and muscles were not so fresh and young anymore. Fresh young brains can stay that way much longer than muscles and brawn, at least until retirement. Anyway, jobs are jobs. Hobbies and triathlons and stuff, thats where the fun is, and what we have jobs for ( ) (and the better your job the wider your choices in hobbies are ).

I did a stint at 16 and 17 as a dishwasher in a Marriot college cafeteria. Decided that a college degree might not be as bad as doing that for the rest of my life.
