Crap!  I was thinking I could maybe do this too, but it's earlier than I thought.

Although wouldn't you all rather run the half on the island of Key West????   That's my plan that day.  We'll have to compare notes on the weather.

We're going to Key West for a wedding the first weekend in January and there might not be much left of the place when we leave, so buy tickets at your own risk!!

I'm planning on Securian as long as my wife isn't working that weekend.

Are you kidding me?  How could I miss the race that I first met Sal and Bridgit at?  Darn right I'll be there.  Plan on doing the half this year but will wait to register until the day of.

I'm thinking I am in for the half as well. I'll probably wait to register until day of, so I can see what the weather is like. If it is warmer than about 10 degrees, I'm not interested Cool

Looks like we may have quite the little group. How many do you think we need before we can demand our own warming hut?

I know this doesn't apply to any of your fasties, but if you have any friends/family also doing the half-marathon in the 10 min/mile range, let me know.  I am always looking for friends to do the long run with...  And there are precious few choices for longer races that time of year!  Go figure...

And there are precious few choices for longer races IN MINNESOTA that time of year!

There are lots of options outside this frozen wasteland.

Cindy replied with a resounding 'NO!' when I mentioned this race...too cold...BUT, there's still 3 more months to convince her...(she eventually wants to break an 11 min/mile pace in a half mary)...

Feeling a little hurt and dejected here now that Emily doesn't want to run with me anymore.

Hi BikerGrrrl,

I am registered for the 1/2 marathon. I won't be breaking any course records or anything. I just want a nice run. I was hoping do about 9 minute miles or less. I thought about finding some kind of a crazy costume to run in just for fun. Here comes the Amazing Spider Man maybe, Flying by at 10 minute miles. Woo Hoo!

Hey Bill.  I realize after reading your note that my note wasn't very clear.  I was trying to get people to run training runs with me in the 10 min/mile range, not the race itself.  Since my half is the same day as this one.   I am not running this particular race.  I think you're in Rochester right?  So I assume you don't want to meet up on weekends for training runs?   Either way, there's too big of a difference between 9 and 10 min miles!  I hope to STICK to 10 minute miles in my half and not take longer...

I'll be on the cusp of the third trimester at that time this year, so I'll be a resounding no. I've finished this race four times, and although I'm usually glad to have done it; it's kind of brutal, IMO.

MN PEEPS!  I plan on hitting this race too!  Training has been lackluster but that's okay...  Hope to meet some of you at the race!

I'm still planning on this one.  I've got my long run tomorrow morning, 12 miles, and it'll be like what...-1 F in the morning...

Oh the joys of living in MN...
