Total Time = 1h 45m 48s
Overall Rank = 71/95
Age Group = 30-39
Age Group Rank = 20/21
Pre-race routine:

First one....act like I knew what was going on
Event warmup:

See above....stretch, keep it light, people watch.
Swim
  • 06m 34s
  • 300 yards
  • 02m 11s / 100 yards
Comments:

Good Swim.....for my first time in a competition. Wasn't used to the waves/chop created by others
What would you do differently?:

Train a little more on the swim. Can't complain
Transition 1
  • 02m 53s
Comments:

Since this was my first time....I took it easy. I probably could have cut out half of that time....but I was chatting with my "neighbor", found my wife and daughter (gave them both kisses), etc.
What would you do differently?:

Just hurry more.....
Bike
  • 58m 36s
  • 14 miles
  • 14.33 mile/hr
Comments:

OMG! That was the worst I'd done....even in training. The wind was out of hand. That hurt a lot. In training and bricks....averaging 18-19 mph and 3:30 miles.....
What would you do differently?:

Invent a shield that will block out the wind.
Transition 2
  • 01m 24s
Comments:

Kind of fun trying NOT to fall. That whole "bike leg" thing was for real
What would you do differently?:

Just speed it up a little....again....waved to my wife, talked to some spectators, etc.
Run
  • 36m 23s
  • 3.2 miles
  • 11m 22s  min/mile
Comments:

Again...wind was a factor. I was more worn out from the bike that I normally am.
What would you do differently?:

Train more...the more tri's I do, the better my times will be
Post race
Warm down:

Stretch, talked, talked, stretched......what you're supposed to do after a race.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

WIND!

Event comments:

The put on a good time....

Great job on your first triathlon!  That's always one of the most memorable.  You are now a triathlete!

Oh, and I feel you on the wind.  Yesterday's ride and today's run were way more difficult than normal because of the wind.

Congrats!

Good job! The wind was tough! Hopefully I & my kids clapped for you when you came through our neighborhood.

Thanks for the words of encouragement.....even from Craig, who I made fun of on the Texas board.

This was a great experience that I cannot wait to do again (even though I can't walk and most muscles are sore.)

Again....thanks y'all
