Subject: RE: Finding a Seat .. Easing the Pain PinkTriathlete - 2007-10-31 1:30 PMy friends laughed as I could only wear skirts for a few days after my ride due to soreness. If this is your problem, it sounds more like chafing than a sit bones issue. Everyone's advice is good, but specifically for that, I'd say body glide, and a hard saddle with a cut out right where the girly parts will go. With my old saddle, which was a little too soft (stock bontrager saddle that came with my trek 1500wsd), after a bike ride my crotch was in serious pain for a couple days, just wiping after a pee hurt cuz it felt like I was all cut up, even with lots of bodyglide. I have a specialized avatar saddle now which has a cutout, and it's so much better - both in regards to my sit bones and general crotchular area pain. Of course, to reiterate what other people are saying, no matter what saddle you have you have to have a good bike fit. |
