I live in Land O Lakes and am just getting started in Tri.  Don't really know what goes into a club but may be interested.

I recommend joining the St. Pete Mad Dogs - many benefits including early sign up for St. Anthony's and 70.3 World Championship spots. Then you could start your own offshoot for training in Pasco.

Ron - good job at Suncoast - you passed me on the run. You are one tall guy.

I never thought of that idea, I know of the MadDogs, wasnt sure however if there were any 'Dogs in east pasco county... My wife and I are just looking to get more people involved....

--Thanks! Suncoast was a blast. This is our first tri season and it started at Escape from Fort Fesoto so it was a good way to end the season..

I am sure there are some up that way. I know a guy in SW Pasco who was also at Suncoast. He says there is a good trail up that way that you can go without stopping for miles. I would be up for that.

This is my first season as well. My wife runs but is not big on swimming.

Are you doing Safety Harbor on Dec. 8th?

I am doing St. Anthony's in the spring and then Florida 70.3 in May...long way to go.

Not going to do Safety Harbor, we're pretty much done for tri events... My wife is 10x the swimmer I am, she did the Suncoast in 9:53 but is looking to improve on the run this off season... while I might as well be an anchor in there... oh well, practice right....pretty much sticking to running for the next 2 months with a little bike swim sprinkled in... I'd like to get down to 215-225

I am also doing St Anthony's, my first Olympic... Florida 70.3? Kudos ma man... Now crossing that finish line is feeling I hope to have sooon...

Withlacoochee trail up here is a 46 mile paved former railroad, favorite spot to ride and run right now...

Now you've got me thinking... 70.3........

I am doing the Safety Harbor Duathlon.  I chickened out on the swim due to the temperature and the fact that I need a ton of work on technique.

I was hoping to do the St. Anthony's but I have a scheduling conflict.  Bummer.

That is a great idea. I often ride on the suncoast parkway trail on sundays and it would be great to start a tri club in Pasco.

Let me know what time and location you start from. I need to build up my mileage and the roads and pinellas trail are annoying with all the stops and traffic.

I ride every Saturday on the Suncoast Parkway starting at SR 54.  I get there between 6:30am and 7am.

I do ride a hybrid though and while I am faster than most on a hybrid I am slower than most on a road bike.  I usually average a little over 15mph on a 20-25 mile ride and am getting better every week.

I know I'm jumping into this a week late, but I am moving to East Pasco (Dade City/San Antonio area) this week. I would be very interested in exploring the idea of a Tri Club in the area.

There is also a great tri team at the Bob Sierra YMCA in Northdale. I used to live in Land O Lakes and I miss the Suncoast, Flatwoods, and the Withlacoochee so much!

Im over in Trinity (NPR) and am interested in any potential groups/training they may emerge in Pasco. Keep me in the loop if something arises.
