Comments:

Overall, this was a very bad race for me. I did a very bad job executing, in many ways:
1. I didn't eat a real breakfast, only had some clif shot bloks and 1/3 of a clif bar. Could have used a bagel and a cup of real coffee.
2. Did not have a race plan. I kinda knew where I wanted my HR to be, but didn't really think about it or have anything planned out.
3. Did not have enough nutrition with me.
4. Had no salt with me, which although I usually don't use, would have been key this time, as my right quad was cramping badly.
5. In general, was not well trained. Missed way too many key long runs, as well as numerous shorter ones.
6. Wasn't fully motivated, either in training, or for the race. That motivation, and having a clear goal, is key in helping me push it near the end of a race. I did want to break 4 hours, but wasn't fully committed to it.

You put all those things together, and you've got a bad race. I'm not sure I want to do another marathon any time soon. I just don't like the long runs. I think I'll top out at half-marathons, and focus on getting faster at those shorter distances.
