Comments: This was a good race for me. I ran with my friend Kathy and we were pretty much matched in terms of ability and effort today. We'd slow down as needed (we're both HORRIBLE pacers) and encourage the other as needed. It's a nice late season race, but it was HOT for November. When I ran this last year I was dressed in a long sleeve shirt and mittens. This year, sports bra and shorts. Texas is so weird! What would you do differently?: Not too much but maybe push a little harder next year. I finished this 5 minutes faster than last year, which shows I may still be SLOW, but I'm improving some which is great!  Post race
Warm down: Found beer tent. Drank beer! Perfect! Event comments: Nice race to test your mid season abilities. The 20 mile seems painful with the two loop course. Once was enough for me! Last updated: 2007-11-05 12:00 AM

Drank my ensure like an old person, talked to some friends before the race and headed to the start. Not sure what to expect as I just ran Marine Corps two weeks earlier! I knew I'd take this easy and have fun!
