Looks like the races really start to kick off on June this year.

Is anyone racing the points series?

yeah, it looks a couple short so far. I noticed right away that there is no motor city yet.

I am hoping to be ready for the Seahorse the first week of June. Our baby is coming in March - so lets hope I can get on a bike in a fair amt of time!

Looks like they are still missing some of the races from the west side of the state as well.  I believe that Grand Haven is still planning to do the "Festival of Races" during the Coastguard Festival, but it isn't listed on the schedule.

I'm sure they will be adding more soon.

I noticed that when you try to sign up for a race online that you are directed to last years race sign up. When do these generally get updated? I know some of them fill up fast, so I want to get signed up as soon as it's available.

You could email them and see if they have the races posted with Active.com yet.

FWIW, I signed up for Big Fish (300 racer limit) in April and was in the first half of the transition area.

I've never experienced this particular problem with 3D.   The only races I know that fill up are some of the elite endeavor races, namely the AA Tri.  Waterloo has sold-out before, but not last year.

The Grand Haven Festival of Races is still happening, but 3D is not the RD this year.

I s anyone aware if there is a race in Muskegon sometime in July/August? I thought there was one this past summer, but don't see it listed on any of the 2008 race lists yet.

Are you thinking of the Muskegon Block 58 tri?

I believe this is the shop that sponsors it, they don't seem to have any info on the site for 2008, but have a e mail list, etc:

I'm fairly certain that Block 58 is happening again this year. I'll see Matt from Endurance Sports sometime during the next week or so and will confirm.

Just plotting my racing schedule for the year and looked at this site for the first time a few minutes ago. Did anyone else notice that Racing for Recovery is on MONDAY, June 9?? Is that a misprint? I went to the RFR website but there was nothing there indicating a date. Any thoughts on why they might do it on a Monday?

Nice. As I looked again, I was looking at www.trifind.com. I don't know why they would have it on Monday. Either way, Sunday works much better! Thanks!

I'm hoping to work in Tawas one way or another between my kids football and marathon training I'm not sure what event I'll do as my fall focus is on the Towpath Marathon (near Cleveland) in October, if it wasn't for that I'd really consider the HIM.

Re: Tawas 1/2 IM
Any triathlon that has a swim in one of the Great Lakes is an awsome triathlon in my book. I checked the satellite view of the venue and the swim looks awsome. It is in a pretty protected location so the current should be minimal. I am not sure about the condition of the roads in that area but I believe it is pretty flat over there so people who don't like big hills should be relieved. I personally love hills, but it looks to be a nice place to race anyway. Good luck to all who enter.
