Woke up Thanksgiving morning - had some recoverite and drove over to the race to register.

Comments:

I haven't been training or getting any sleep for the past 2 weeks b/c of the new arrival, so wanted to so something fun on Thanksgiving to kick start getting back into the swing of things. So after a long night of feeding and changing diapers, I woke up with a cold but still decided to give it a shot just for fun. It was a little strange driving over the race alone, but the weather was amazing for mid Nov - about 60 and sunny! After registering had to hang out awhile for the start, but once I got going it felt good to be out running again. :) I lost some time in mile 2 and 3, but still managed to hold under 7:30. It seemed like a pretty big field for a 5k, and it turns out there were 851 running.. Must have been the nice day!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

No sleep or training for the past 2 weeks or so.. :)

Event comments:

Nice residental run and a big field for a local 5k. Fun to run on thanksgiving before a big meal.

Looks like you did pretty good considering lack of sleep and a cold. It was a great day and nice race. My wife and I were visiting from Florida and enjoyed the warmer temp.
