Subject: HOLIDAY PARTY!!!!!

Hey Cool Kids (and really any of our BT family reading this)......I have mentioned this before, but thought I should make it official.  I would like to host a Holiday party for everyone on Saturday, Dec 15th.  I am thinking around 5pm, spouses or others are invited as well.  My house is VERY small, but I don't want that to keep us from getting together.  We all like each other right? So we can all just get a little closer that night!!  I was thinking it could be an "appetizer potluck" with everyone bringing their favorite party appetizer and their favorite Holiday sweet treat.  I will supply beer and beverages and plates, napkins, etc.....  If you want anything other than beer, feel free to bring it.  Just no sloppy drunk drivers whose family will sue me after the crash, though! Also, I thought it would be fun to do the White Elephant gift exchange.  Bring something wrapped that is completely tacky and stupid!! You know...that gift your mother-in-law bought you last year, or that crappy thing you got at the office gift exchange!! The tackier and crappier the better!!  This is always fun.  SOOO.....let me know if you are coming, and if you know, what you would like to bring. (it might help others decide what they should bring).  I will in turn supply you with directions to my house.  Kids are welcome, but know they will be herded upstairs into the master suite to watch movies and play games as to not be underfoot and within earshot of most conversations.  Also....if anyone has any of those patio heater thingy's......it would be great if we could borrow it for the night.  PM me if you can help. Ok....recap:

Saturday December 15, 2007 5:00pm
Casa de StandsWithFist
Bring an appetizer, sweet treat, and a white elephant gift
Guests are welcome, and deodorant recommended.

Oh...and Jen wants to wear a cocktail dress.  Everyone can dress normal. Or, well, in non-sweaty, non-triathlon clothes.  So I guess like we normally do NOT see you.  Sweet!

I have a patio heater. I also LOVE to cook (want to go to culinary school some day). Steph and I are there. We are going to get a hotel room near by so we can PARTY and not drive 5 hours back to Glendale. I also have an extra Patio table and 8 extra platic chairs I could bring. Let me know. Is there gonna be a Polar Bear swim?

I really have nothing to volunteer (patio heater, cooking skills, furniture) other than my rugged good looks, charm, and quick wit.....I know, you're feeling pretty lucky right about now! Anyway, I'm planning on attending and if there is anybody who needs a DD (Woz) just let me know and I can help in that regards. I will bring whatever is needed as well, just tell me what to do, I'm comfortable being bossed around.

I'm there for sure! My whole house has been decorated in "Tacky Chique", so it's going to be difficult finding something I can part with.

I'm there!  I'll have the Mrs. figure out something to bring.

Is this a family-friendly event, or do I need to arrange for a sitter?  I know Chris will be there, so I have to ask.

Fitzy....kids are welcome, but yours are kinda small, aren't they?  I have a 2 story house, and was planning on keeping the kids entertained upstairs away from us raucous adults.  So my only fear is the stairs.  It's up to you, but I can't guarantee they won't hear an F-bomb be dropped.

Woz....borrowing the heater would be AWESOME!!!  We could probably also use the table and chairs!! Hell, bring over your whole living room set and we will just make the back yard a second living room!! AND cook your little pants off!!  Can't wait to see/eat what you bring!!

Zach....  precious little Zach.....  what to do with you?  We will have to come up with something you can bring.  Maybe you can swing by some place and bring a heap of hot wings. Seems that the majority of the crew like them.

Chris....as much as WE would all like to see you part with it, your icky little bird OR it's coffee pot CANNOT be the white elephant gift!!!

Oh Yeah! I'm looking forward to this. Shelley and I will attend, possibly Emily. Ken has an outdoor heater. I can speak to him about it.

Will there be any RockBand tryouts?

Well, the "nearest" are either 4 or 6 miles away.  I live off of Val Vista and US 60. 4 miles in a westward direction would be at the North intersection of US 60 and Gilbert Rd.  There is Hampton Inn 1563 South Gilbert Road, Mesa, AZ. OR  6 miles away in an Easterly direction, there is La Quinta Inn at 6530 E Superstition Springs Bl, Mesa, AZ, or Country Inn at 6650 E Superstition Springs, Mesa, AZ.  These are both just across the freeway from Superstition Springs Mall.

Steph came up with this option:

Extended StayAmerica Phoenix - Mesa
455 W. Baseline Rd.
Mesa, AZ 85210
P: (480) 632-0201 F: (480) 632-0195
From US Rte. 60 (Superstition Fwy.), take Exit 179 ( South Country Club Dr .)
South. Travel 1/2 mile to the first service road past West Baseline Rd. Turn right onto the service road. Extended Stay America will be on the left.

$74.99 for Queen
$84.99 for King

www.extendedstayamerica.com

It's 5 miles from Tanya's. We're going to stay here.

Sounds like more fun than my company work party, so I'll have to try and talk my lovely wife into this. I'll work my charms on her in Vegas this weekend. (but she may still agree to come anyway)

I would say since Paulette is bringing Tyson, he can have his limo take everybody where they need to go, maybe I'm off base here but the dude has the money, why not spend it on the tri club??

Seriously though, I can always drive peeps if need be, I'd prefer you all make it safely to your final resting place.........for the evening.
