Comments: So it has taken me a week to feel like writing this report, this was a most dissapointing marathon for me. It really was a pretty course, the leaves were changing, nice scenery. The second half was hillier than the first half, and I would definately not call it flat! What would you do differently?: I don't know what happened, I should have been able to do a 3:45, that was my goal, that's what I had trained for. I knew at mile 7 or so that it was not going to happen. My legs never felt good, it never felt easy. I had to stop and go to the bathroom at about mile two, and used alot of energy trying to catch back up with the 3:40 pace group. Post race
Warm down: There was no warm! I grew up up north, so I know what cold weather is but HOLY CRAP! I have never been so cold in my life. I went through the food tent and went to the family waiting area to wait for everyone. At one point I was so cold that I just went and sat in a Porta-Pottie for about 15 minutes. Waiting for people is a bad idea, always have a backup plan. What limited your ability to perform faster: Who knows. I would guess that 1. I screwed up my taper, I did a 10k 2 weeks before and pushed it to see where my fitness was. 2. It was cold, I never got warm during the race, my hands were freezing. 3. Mentally checked out as soon as I knew I was having a bad day, that's what bugs me the most. Last updated: 2007-11-26 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4:30, ate the usuall pb bagel, had a 1/2 of bannana and drank a cup of coffee.
Took a cab to some friends house near the start and waited there.
Walked down about a 1/2 mile to the start with friends, freezing!
