Run
Comments: The first two miles were not good. My shins tightened up and my times were awful. Before the bridge, I think around mile 2 I stopped and stretched and threw out my pace bands of 2:23, 2:25 and 2:30. I just wanted to finish.... I ran very slow and continued my run/walk. Ended up catching up with Paula for a bit, then finally shins felt ok in the tunnel. So during running I picked up the pace and continued with run 8 min, walk 1. I thought I better buck up and enjoy the run while my shins were hurting so, I no longer looked at my watch. Went to the bathroom (the real one) around Madrona. :) NICE no line and a real bathroom. Then it was ALL run no walk from about 8 miles on.....I may have walked a couple of minutes....I felt VERY, VERY strong on the hills, even the last hill wasn't bad. I thought I would have a negitive split, but alas i was fooled. What would you do differently?: WARM UP! Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: SHINS. my original goal had been 2:15, but due to tendon issues and shin issues that goal went out the window before the race and then after mile 2, I just was interested in finishing! Last updated: 2007-11-26 12:00 AM

Got up around 5:15. Ate toast with peanut butter and syrup. Milk. Stopped at Starbucks for my pre race Green Tea Latte. Yummy.
Not enough!! Just walked from the car to the start.
