Comments: This course is very hilly and I hate to run it. Had to get really pumped because I knew the hills were coming. In the 1st mile there's a big hill coming out of the state park so I started slow. The next mile was mostly downhill. The 3rd mile had some rollers. The 4th mile was the toughest with 2 big climbs with 1 being steep and the other was a 1/2 mile long. The 5th mile was more rollers with the 6th mile a really nice downhill back into the park. The last .84 miles was more rollers with a nasty uphill to the chute. I passed 2 people early and was passed by 1 with about 1/2 mile left but had no gas in the tank to catch him. He beat me by :03. What would you do differently?: I think I ran this race about as good as I could. I probably could have opened up more on the downhills. Post race
Warm down: Walked around and drank lots of water What limited your ability to perform faster: I felt really good on this run but it was the longest run I have done in the last 3 months. Need to up my running mileage and add more hills. Event comments: I took 4 mins off my time from last years race. Woke up Sunday with a nasty cold. I've got to get better for next week's run at Tim's Ford State Park. Last updated: 2007-11-29 12:00 AM
