Comments: The start was a little crowded; some people didn't line up according to their paces, so there was a lot of traffic initially. Mayde caught up around 2.5 miles, but then fell off pace. Saw my Orlando around mile 3, looking good! Just hung in there till the end. Wanted to go sub-50 initially. But decided not to care about time and just run hard and have fun. Completed the race nearly a minute and a half above my PB. What would you do differently?: Nothing.  Post race
Warm down: Waited with Orlando at the finish line. He completed his 5k and felt great. Didn't even look tired; the guy's lost a lot of weight. Mayde came in at 50:37 (a new PB!). Cari looked strong as she sprinted toward the finish line, completing her first 10K! What limited your ability to perform faster: Big belly, no training, etc. Event comments: Good race. A nice way to spend a Thanksgiving morning. But what would I know, we don't celebrate Turkey day in my country! Profile Album Last updated: 2007-11-30 12:00 AM

Got to the park really early. My good friend Orlando had signed us up. He'd be running his first 5k. I had helped him a bit a few months ago in getting started.
Ran around looking for Orlando who would drive down from Boynton Beach. Couldn't find him. Chatted with Cari, who would be running her first 10K!
Lined up in the 8-minute mile section.
