I thought I'd avoid Lynch Hill this year by signing up for the Long Course.....I had a momentary lapse of memory of Nasty Grade (I, II, and III) when I signed up for the Long Course......what was I thinking......but, it will be fun! Wildflower always is a fun long weekend! It is camping, partying, and has a triathlon or two thrown in for a little distraction!

See you at Lake San Antonio!

Hey California peeps!  I'm back for my fourth year in a row at WF.  The mtb sprint was my first tri ever, and I've done the Oly the last two years.  I'll be back for the Oly again this year, though a bit under trained...  See you all in a couple months!!!

Only 6 weeks left!!!!!!  After the difficulty of the sprint I did last weekend, I'm really questioning my ability to do this oly.  But I'm signed up, so I'm going.  Time to kick the training up a notch!!

I am getting excited, but also starting to freak out a little.... especially since I'll be on a business trip all next week and don't know how much training I'll get to cram in.

I initially signed up for the long course, but a family event now conflicts with the date.

The good news is that trical will let me switch to the oly distance on Sunday.

Now I just have to figure out the logistics when to get there (drive up late on Saturday and camp, or drive up really early on race day).

Only 2 weeks to go!!!!

I biked the oly course today, and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.  Of course, I imagine race day will be quite different.  It is BEAUTIFUL out there, I was wishing I had my camera, but it's probably better that I didn't have it because I would have stopped every half mile to take pictures.

It took me about half the ride to figure out that the long bike course was marked in miles, and the oly course is marked in km.  Also, the turnaround wasn't marked today so I added about 2 miles to my ride.

I know what you are saying, it was a ghostown when I went. Great job on getting to the course!

The forcast I looked at (link on the Wildflower site) says this sunday will be 63 and sunny with winds of 18mph, gusts at 33mph.

I hate wind!!!!!!!

From a tri club team mate already camping out at Wildflower.

FYI - per STan it's been pretty cold at night! So if you have extra blankets and beanies you may want to bring them!

Bacardi - 2008-04-30 3:18 PM Sorry to break it to you, but the forecast this weekend is 82-83 degrees! I'm doing my first Oly distance this weekend at Wildflower!

Don't be sorry, I would prefer the warmer weather since I have been training with an extra shirt anticipating it bieng hot, now it looks like I will have to wear the extra shirt to stay warm. I do know this much, whatever mid temp it reaches wont be until later in the day, in the morning getting on the bike wet it is going to very cool and very windy so be prepared. Regional forcast at weather channel shows a high of  mid 70's, local weather prediction shows mid 60's.
