For those interested in the race we've just posted the course preview video which give a pretty good look at the location and course.

As I said with the Black Bear preview...I'm no Martin Scorcese so take it easy on my video editing prowess (or lack thereof).

FYI, if you missed it the link for the Black Bear preview is:

Thanks for the great video! I am already registered and cannot wait. I live near the park and you did a fantastic job showing how beautiful NJ really is in areas.

Thanks, glad you like it.

That park (Mercer County Park) is incredible for a county park...heck, it would be pretty incredible for a state park. I live in a different county and there is nothing even CLOSE to that type of venue near me. I've had people come up to me at the race and just marvel at the amenities of that park.

I envy you to have that at your disposal...consider yourself lucky!

I'm going to sign up for the race but I'm unsure if I want to do the Sprint or Olympic distance. When does it usually fill up/close up? Trying to get a better feel for my swim over the next 2 months before choosing.

I signed up for the sprint. Mainly because I was unsure of how much swim training I will be able to do. Also this being my first Tri it will be good for me to get a feel for the race.

Did the race last year, and it was awesome! Only thing that would be better if the Clydes ran with their age group. Any chance of that for 08?

Thanks

Since Clydesdale is it's own category they probably have to be kept in the same wave. I would think the only way to be sure you go off with your age group is to sign up as an age grouper.

Would this be a good course for a beginner?  I was planning on doing my first tri at LBI in September but I'm already starting to itch to do one sooner.

I thinks it's a great beginner course. The swim is in a lake so current isn't a factor. The bike is flat and the run has plenty of shade.
