I watched it. Not bad coverage. Could have been better. I've certainly seen worse.

I am SOOOOOOO freakin ticked....I looked up the TV coverage for the IM-Kona and noticed all of the other events that are aired on Verses......Well that's just peachy freakin keen since my local cable company DROPPED Verses about a month ago.

Called my sister-in-law and asked her to tape the IM's that show on Verses....Can't do it as it conflicts with her watching 2-5 college football games..OK so yes I am watching those games too but CRAP...help a brother out for crying out loud...

Thanks for allowing me to vent/rant/rave...you may now return to your regularly scheduled life...as long as it isn't shown on Verses in Atlanta.

Would love to know if anyone got those on DVD and would be willing to share...just PM if you can help out.

Thanks

Oh, man...nostalgia city! I lived in Madison for nine years and have only been back a few times--and not at all since a couple hour visit in 2003--so seeing all the sights during the coverage made me downright homesick. Lakeshore dorms...Library Mall...the Square...

I've been thinking if I do succumb to IM fever down the road, that I'd probably opt for IMAZ, since it's within driving distance and I have friends in Phoenix. But after watching the coverage today, I don't know if I can resist making a pilgrimage back to Madtown for MOO...

The crowds in Madison were awesome. I would highly recommend IMWI for a first IM! I'll be going back there again! KY this year, Placid next year, we'll have to find a way to get back to Madison.

Trixie was interviewed!

They also showed rstocks3 in his BT jersey coming off the bike right behind Hillary Biscay!

DUDE!! had I known it was going to be an EXTREME close up I would have asked for make-up, or gone to bed the night before....

when they showed the Janus inspirtion tent there was a "Go R Stocks" sign that was just made

I like the coverage better when it is not a men or womens championship, they seem to give a little more of the course, age groupers and finishes

I'm not one for hills, but after watching the coverage and watching the amazing crowds, I would definetly consider doing Wisconsin as my first IM.

I, on the other hand, am already signed up, and watching those rolling hills they were biking on has scared the beejezus out of me.

At least fear is a good motivational tool.

I missed it this weekend, I was so wrapped up in making sure I recorded Kona. Did anyone get this on VHS or DVD (or DVR and have the capability of recording to VHS or DVD?) If so, I would be greatly appreciative if you would be willing to make a copy. I'll cover shipping cost and media cost plus a little extra for your trouble. You can email me on here or at herzog75 at hot mail dot com.

I'm registered for this race next year, and would really like to have this recording to keep me going.

 Thanks!

How fast does the race fill up does it fill up on at the race site the morning after, or do you have to be lucky enough to sign up online.  I know it sells out quick, but how quick is quick?

Well I finally got to sit down and watch it night before last. It already seems like such a long time ago. I was glad to see they didn't capture me pucking out in front of Starbucks after the race I love the capital building as a backdrop......amazing.

I'll tell you - the bike is my strength and especially hills....and it is a deceivingly tough bike course. That second loop is hard....the crowds on the bike course are wonderful. It is beautiful....but do not underestimate the hills. We drove it a couple days before and I thought...hmm not that bad, but when you ride it - it is harder then it looks.....but well worth it. Great, Great Race. As you can tell the swim this year was absolutely amazing...you could not have asked for a more perfect swim.....and the run course is not bad at all....

2007 Filled up in a little over an hour on the first day of online registration.

I don't know about 2008, but I'm sure it was faster.
