Run
Comments: Considering I couldn't even run .25 miles in Aug without sending my HR thru the roof, I felt pretty good about how far I had come. I had to completely rebuild my aerobic base due to the knee surgery, and really only started my running again the last week in August. The run today felt great, knee felt great, HR was still high, but i'll continue to work on that! Will still continue to train for a sub 9-minute pace 10K. What would you do differently?: train more for a stronger aerobic base. Post race
Warm down: walked and talked, caught up with our team. What limited your ability to perform faster: wish i had a better aerobic base, HR was still too high. Event comments: It was pretty cool, so we didn't stay really for any of the post-race food or activities. Instead a bunch of us went to a local restaurant for a great breakfast buffet (good pick!) Setting it up as a group competition really made it fun. The groups were on a pretty competitive level, so nobody really 'ran away with it'. :) And it seemed that all times influenced the team result so that was cool. Good time had by all. Chatted mostly. Ate granola bar before I left home.
Some stretching. Short run in the pre-race area. Should have done more stretching -- not to affect time, but to prevent injury.
