Comments:

First marathon!!!

The run felt really good. I had no idea what to expect since my 20miler felt so horrible, but I'd had a couple good 18's going into it. There were 27 aid stations and I was wearing a camel back, so I didn't have to stop when they were packed. It gave me a little more freedom. I felt a little paranoid about little aches that ended up being more in my head. The Dolly hill was fine, I could tell some people were slowing down, so it felt good to have the motivation to pass a few people. There was a group of about 5 guys dressed up as Stewie from the Family Guy that were all over the course cheering, Amber slapped one of their plastic @sses at one point when it was hanging out of the overalls. Even though the weather wasn't that great for spectators people were out in full force cheering. I think I saw at least three beer stations set up by the local communities. Funny, but there is no way.

Mile 24 was the hardest for me. My nutrition was perfect. But it was when the cold started setting in and my muscles started getting tight and shortening my stride. We picked it up for the last mile though and I felt strong.
What would you do differently?:

Go outside a little sooner. Actually start with the pace group so I didn't have to catch up.
Post race
Warm down:

Try to find a warm spot and some food.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough maintenance runs during the week. Experience.

Event comments:

I felt like I finished in a decent time and there really wasn't any food left for me. I got a yogurt and a tiny sample cup of soup. The vendors were packing up. Kinda sucks since most of the group finished behind me. I think non-runners partaking in the food probably contributed to it.

There was a really good band playing.

Course: Fairly flat a few mini hills, but after training in Auburn all last year they weren't any more difficult. And let's be honest I'm built for hills. Porta potties and aid stations everywhere. Great course.

Great race out there

I think they knew they didn't have much food since they were attempting to not let non-runners on the floor..  this is the first year that they hired a company to come in and run the race so I knew there would be some things a bit different

Awesome job on your first marathon! Sub four for your first is great. That's a bummer about the food, and knowing how much you like food that makes it even more of a bummer. What's next?

Great run!  It was very nice to meet you while running, although it wasn't exactly the best place for introductions.

Congrats on your first marathon!
