So if you like hot people in skimpy outfits, beer, and racking up brownie points ...

Join us in Santa Monica for the annual holiday Speedo run this Saturday, 2 p.m., at Ye Olde King's Head.

It's nearly as fun to come as a spectator, too.

Details can be found here: http://holidayspeedorun.com/index.html

The suggested donation is $25 and/or gently used tri gear (running, biking, or swim stuff). This benefits Exceeding Expectations, which was created by Cherie Gruenfeld in 2000 to re-direct the lives of at-risk inner-city kids in San Bernardino, California, using the sport of triathlon. At any one time there are about 40-45 kids in the program learning to swim, bike and run, and they participate in a variety of races in Southern California.

Oh man, it's too bad I'm in NorCal. That would be a race to do... or at least watch

This is actually not a race but rather a brief and chilly one-mile jaunt through the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, which is filled with shoppers and tourists, who donate money.   It is an annual event for the LATri club, led by a wonderful man who ran last year in Borat getup.  The runners do in fact wear Speedos (clearly) and sing carols, and often the news coverage is funny -- sometimes rude (one year a local news anchor complained that nobody should be wearing speedos ever, and the other said that if anyone could, it would be our group of triathletes).

As immodest as I am at the pool in my speedo, I don't think you'll see me and the old budgee smuggler this saturday afternoon

For some reason I'm glad I'm working this weekend. I don't want to scare people during the happy holiday season. I want them to have happy thoughts, not thoughts of me running down the street in a speedo. However if there is lots of alcohol involved prior to the start I could be easily convinced. LOL

There's a reason we start and end at a pub ...

Oh come on Hector ... not that long a drive ... lots of hot chicks in little clothing, plus you'd get to hang out with me on a fine Saturday ...

Actually I think I would have been just barely brave enough to do it if i didn't have to run my business this weekend.
