Ok, long story short, but we have had a serious CO problem in our home eminating from the oven. After weeks of headaches, I finally called the gas company last night and we no longer has use of the oven and stove top till it's repaired/replaced. A normal reading is 10, we were over 90. Now the problem, noone seems to know who to call to repair it. I've been on hold ALL morning with the home warranty folks and the people who received the work order from them only to be told they don't deal with CO problems and now I'm on hold with the the manufacturer to figure out how to repair/replace this thing. Need to vent - thanks for listening. UGGGGG how frustrating - I'm missing my workout because of this!

Yikes! Glad to see that you've at least noticed it and have it shut off. CO (not Colorado) is a wicked thing that can do some serious damage to your body. I hope everyone is OK. Take care.

CO binds with hemoglobin better than oxagen too, so you may notice some improvment in your workout once the problem is fixed! 8-) or at least the head ache will go away!

jeez- I have to log on to hear my sister is close to asphixiation!!!!

I have it on good account from a friend with a great circa 1950 comercial stove that to get old stoves worked on is really difficult!

I hear that Sears is ready for you to come on in for that electric stove/range........... maybe Ty Pennington can take on your case! damn, he is cute! (ps- he and the crew is in Denver this week!)

Ty is in town and you didn't tell me this beforehand. I would have come up just to catch him.. He's is SOOOO cute (don't mention that to Cesar).

After hours and hours (3+ all told) on hold, the orginal maker Whirlpool is sending someone out free of charge to determine to origin of the problem, then I have to call the home warranty people to get further approval when he tells he how it can be repaired or if I have to buy a new one. Thank god for Whirlpool! I'd still be on hold with people. I'll let you all know how it goes tonight after he comes.

After countless hours on the phone with people (insurance, manufacturer, appliance repair and gas company), 2 visits from the gas company and 1 visit from the repairman... it has been determined that the oven is non-repairable - if only due to the fact the oven is 22+ years old and the parts are no longer made. However, for the insurance folks to buy us the new one it wouldn't get here till end of NEXT week or later (after turkey day) so we are taking the cash value and heading to Sears tonight who can install the day before turkey day! YEAH!!!!! Gotta love Sears!

No problem, Ty - Andrew - any guy as hot as them can hijack a thread. I always watch them - I get to see them about 6 times a day here - boy does that make my day. i can't believe my own sister didn't tell me he was in Denver. Location undisclosed - I'd drive all over town up and down every street to see either of them.
