I'm sure this has already been covered on this website, but I just wanted to say how nice everyone is here. I also visit a couple of other boards, but there always seems to be so much bickering and in-fighting that it's just not even enjoyable to read. I've noticed that on this board, nobody seems to take personal offense at anything that's said and that's a very nice change.

Thanks

Chris

I agree. Positive energy abounds, it's very refreshing. Thanks for your addition to this energy and site.

Yes, this is a good group. Not only do people not take personal offense to things said, but so far I have not read any offensive conversations or pointed barbs at anyone or anything. I hope this will continue - I have gotten off of a couple of other boards when they started to become less that friendly. Here however, everyone shows great respect for each other and it is very refreshing.

I don't know what it is tonight, but I am being awfully wordy!! This is about the 4th post I've responded to. Must be my day off energy!!!

I hear ya Nancy. I've bailed from other sites because the "nasty factor" was just too much for me. This site is everything I had been looking for and again, I thank Ron for his dedication and hard work.

I did say something offensive to the marines on this site by calling them jarheads but I think they knew I was just joking.

Jarhead is a term of endearment. But only a jarhead can call another jarhead a jarhead.

Yes, this is a great group
I wish I could train with you all, as it is difficult to find training partners at my level (ie: not supercompetitive) I just wanna have fun, and some hammerheads just cannot grasp that concept.

I much agree, this is a wonderful forum. The poeple here are so much more level headed and mature than some of the other sites I frequent. So, to all the forum members thank you for being so nice.

It is a lot easier to be nice than to bash someone.  I think some of the other sites have so called triathletes, that spend more time bashing others than training.  It takes more talent to build something than it does to tear it down.

Hey Michael -- good point. I like that about the effort to build something. I think the "bashers" rather take the more effortless route.

I appreciate the site for the civility, as well as the info, and the encouragement, and the fact that I don't have to be a "pro" to post my $0.02. Not to mention, those who "just wanna have fun" like I do. Thanks to Ron and all the other writers who are doing this for us "average Joes" who are trying to kick their butts back into some semblance of shape. Well, mine has a shape, but I'm trying to get it into better shape.

This is a cool forum. I enjoy trying to give advice because when I tell other people what I think they should do it really helps me answer that question of what should I do. The advice people give on this forum is good. Everyone seems to go back to the fundamentals and this is what people lose track of when they are involved in a training program.

This was the first forum I found when doing a SEARCH for beginning triathletes and I have never bothered looking any further. The positive energy here, the clean look and feel of the site, and the training logs make it a wonderful online community.
