Swim
Comments: Swim was OK but nothing special. Into the sun coming back and I kept veering left away from the course on that leg. There seemed to be lots of other swimmers around me everywhere else, even on the second loop. Occasional light contact and I had to hold up several times. Transition 1
Comments: Time is estimated since the transitions were included in the bike segment. T1 was at the lake and we sent a T2 bag off to town with the volunteers. We had to pack our swim stuff in another bag before we left T1 and they brought it to T2. Bike
Comments: I started pushing a bit once I got to the turn around. Probably too much, but it sure felt good. :) There was a rough spot leading onto the bridge at the bottom of the river valley on the way out. The lady in front of me launched a water bottle so I slowed a bit. On my way back, there was an ambulance there. It looked like another lady had crashed but she was sitting up at the side of the bridge and seemed to be OK. What would you do differently?: Pace myself better. Transition 2
Run
Comments: I was amazed at how well I was doing up to the run and had delusions of a sub 6 or better overall time. I started a little weakly but got rolling along pretty quickly. The pace was good for close to a 2 hour half mary run up to the halfway point. I started slowing down and walking more then, and was mostly walking for the last 5 km. There were no specific pains, I just couldn't seem to keep a run going. Found it again for the last half kilometer but by then it was too late to break 6 hours overall. Finished at 6:05:28. Post race
