Is there a difference between the 2 besides about $70?  It still has the Lifetime Warranty so if something was bad they would take care of it.

I have an '06 model and I just bought a new fluid 2 for my husband and I see no meaninful differences while riding.  The new one has two updates, a heavier fly wheel (not sure it does anything for me) and a slightly different mechanism to tighten onto the wheel.

Not sure what you are looking to pay, but sunrisecyclery.com has them for $224 including shipping.
