With the start of the new year right around the corner and my waistline as big as its ever been, I figure that it is time to get down to business.

My longterm goal is more than 25 but I think that 25 pounds in 25 weeks is healthy start and I'll go from there. This will put me at a good weight for the start of my tri season.

I think that January 2nd would be a good day for my first weigh in so if anyone would like to join me on my quest to losing 25 pounds, I'd love to have you.

Brian,

I will join you for this challenge!  Twenty-five pounds will get me almost all the way to my weight goal, and this will supply additional support and motivation for getting the job done.

Thanks for starting the challenge!

BrianO,

Sounds like we have similar goals and I would be happy to join the endeavor.
Let me know what to do next.

Me too, Brian! I'm up for that challenge. I have a bit more than that to lose, and I agree that 25 is a great start!

Excellent, nice to see some new users too...

If anyone has different goals, such as 15#s or 80#s pounds, I'd like to encourage you to join in on this challenge. We don't discrimminate.

Its more of a new years resolution challenge being that it will start January 2nd or close to that date.

I'll be posting weekly with my starting weight, individual weight loss goal, weight loss to date, and whatever else you feel like adding. I've started a few challenges before but slowly worked my way out of it, I'm hoping that being an integral part of this one, I'll stick with it.

The next few days will consist of my binge drinking and eating to get it out of my system and I'll be hitting the ground running on the 2nd.

This sounds great.  Is there a challenge for the binge drinking and eating until Jan. 2? Just kidding.  I replied to your other post- in short, count me in.

Count me in too please!

If I could loose 25 lbs, I would be absolutely thrilled and would parade around in the skimpiest tri outfits I could find this year. Ooooooh! Fun!

I have gotten a little off track with my goals lately and having to post my statistics in a public place might be just enough to keep me focused!

Thanks for starting this challenge Brian. This was something that I wanted to do as well and I specifically came to look for a challenge and I'm glad to have found this.

I was successful at losing about 20+lbs about 2 seasons ago when I first starting doing triathlons. I'm also a type 2 diabetic and in combination with some diabetes meds and increased workouts I was able to lose the weight. This last season found me dealing with some issues and I'm in a terrific place in my life, but in order to achieve that, I had to downsize the training a lot last season and the weight crept back on.

I'm basically back to my pre-triathlon weight and I would love to get back to the weight I was about a year ago.

25lbs is a great goal for me. I hope I can meet the 1 lb per week challenge!

I am keen to join in with this challenge, need to work on food/nutrition to drop 10kgs (25ish lbs) to make the training and racing better and less time out on the course.

Next Ironman I will go under 12hr 30mins.

I would love to join. My first tri will be this year and the main reason for the goal is weightloss and overall fitness. My goal is 40lbs, but 25 is right along the path.

Weigh-ins will be January 2nd or soon as possible for those who simply can't access a scale on the 2nd. Then try to check in weekly with current weight, weight loss to date, developments over the week in terms of training or diet, whats working, whats not, or anything that is on your mind.

Am I the only one afraid to get on the scale?

This couldn't have come at a better time. I'm really looking forward to this challenge.

I'm in too! I lost 30 pounds on Weight Watchers about 2 years ago and have put back on 17 of it. So by the beginning of tri season, I would like to be down 15-18 pounds.

I would love to get in on this. I had lost 130 lbs over the past 2 years and was 20 lbs away from my goal weight, got back into old habits & put back on 50 - in the last 6 months mind you (food + no working out - doesn't work with me)- YUCK! But getting back in gear now and having some place where I am accountable I think will help. I put an Oly in front of me in June (have only done 1 sprint) and got a tri coach and this should help round out my set up 25 is a small step toward my total goal of 70 but is such a manageable goal - start small - right! So what do we do - weigh in each week and post it? Thanks - I need this support for sure!

I would also like to join in. My weight has slowly got back up over the off season. I need to lose at least 15lbs but 20 would be ideal.

I am in too! I love the idea that I have to post my weight (as embarrassing as that is). It will cause me be more accountable. Since brianO (who posted this challenge) is my husband I think it best to be in on the action.

Since baby 3 in 4years my body needs a kick in the pants to be in better shape. My goal is 50 but 25 will be a great start!

Looking forward to the challenge with everyone!

I WANT IN.

This will get me to my goal weight of 200lbs.

Weekly, Awesome. I have a contest going with the wife.  The winner gets to buy whatever they want. (within reason)

Bryan

Hi!
Please count me in. I lost 25lbs on WW last year but have since gained back 20lbs of it. Wow when did that happen again?!?!
I started training for a triathlon last year and have completed a Sprint Triathlon. I really enjoyed training for it. I plan on doing two Sprints this year and maybe a Half Marathon. Definitely would like to shed some pounds so I don't pound the pavement quite so hard! :-) Twenty five pounds in 25 weeks sounds like a great plan! Thanks
