Hey Guys...

It's been awhile since we've all been in touch! My shoulder recovery is going well. In fact, I raced this past weekend. I completed my race report and it's in my log. My shoulder handled the race...a little stiff at first but loosened up as the race went on! I am heading to the Ortho MD for a follow up x-ray and appt. I am thinking I WILL NOT tell him I raced this past weekend!!

Greg's Ironman is getting closer! Can't wait to follow him online this weekend!

Andrew...looks like training is going well for you! And I see you have sigend up for the Angel's race and Pinehurst! Pinehurst is an Olympic distance isn't it?

Good luck to everyone on their upcoming races...drop us a line to let us know how everyone is doing!!!

Hi Mike,

I was on the Tri path about a year ago and slipped away.  I'm interested in getting back on the tri bandwagon.  Is your group open?

Hi Mike!

I'd like to join. I'm 28 about 65-80lbs overweight but I was a swimmer in high school. I'm new at this and don't know what the heck I'm doing LOL. But I enjoyed the one race that I did so far and I'm looking to get faster and better in my racing abilities. Long term I'd of course like to complete an Ironman.

But I think I just need some guidance. Right now, I'm working on building a base (after reading everything on this site 2x over)

I still have to learn to work the logs and such but trust me, I am working out.

so, where do we meet? Do I report here everyday? Do you email us? Let me know so I do it right.

That is of course if you let me join your group

Hey Leanne

Good luck on your race, you'll do fine. How are you feeling? Yes, next weekend is the Angel's Race. I am feeling pretty good about this one, I am also thinking about doing the Pinhurst oly. Been going pretty hard, trying to increase my running and cycling so I can hit 2009 with a decent base. I really want to tackle the HIM in 09.

Hey Andrew,

Thanks for the well wishes! I spent the weekend packing and I am ready to go!

Scott worked two races this weekend at White Lake...the Dash for Diva's and Club Wars. Due to Hanna they held both races today. He got home after five tonight and has been asleep on the couch since he sat down!

Good luck to you next weekend as well...

Scott mentioned maybe us doing Pinehurst...but I'm not so sure. It's the week before our 1/2 marathon up in Baltimore, but I'll let you know if we are heading that way.

Which HIM are you thinking about doing next year? White Lake? Duke?? South Carolina??

I am hoping to be ready for the Beach to Battleship HIM. I have a freind who has "talked" me into training with her and now I am committed lol. I just need to start a plan and stick with it so I am ready. I am going to build a better base this winter for my run and swim, and try and maintain on the bike which I feel really good about. My climbing has really improved since Jan 08. I am not sure which 1/2 mary I want to try, hope to find one before Dec and actually be ready for it, up to a little over 8 miles now, 5 more to go, yippee lol. Have a safe trip and let us know how y'all make out. Looking forward to reading your race reprot and let me know if you both are going to do Pinhurst, only 207 spots left, I am signing up this friday.

Hi Mike

I would like to join your group.  I am a beginner, however I run daily and love to cycle.  I have done long distance bike rides. I have participated in the Chicago Shamrock Shuffle.  And I recently did a 3 day 15 mile backpack trip through the Mountains of Tennesse.  I am looking forward to doing my first sprint this spring.  Due to a shoulder injury I have not swam in a couple of months, but look forward to getting in the water very soon.

I am a 41 year young female with a husband, 4 children, a full time job etc...

I hope you will take me, as you can see I have a lot of potential.

Thank you

I run daily, not fast... or least not as fast as I would like.   I want to run several marathons this spring and summer in Chicago as well as a tri.  I am not sure with the running (the hardest for me) if I should be concentrating on getting speed or endurance?

Hey All

I hope everyone is having a great holiday season and not putting on too many pounds! Just a quick update, I finally started back training, things have been hectic here to say the least, our move is going slow and we are still living in two states (sucks) and in Jan, my youngest is starting school in Ga and I will miss her (sucks), my oldest is staying here and finishing up sophmore year then get's one month off and back to school in Ga (sucks for her) and I haven't found a job down there yet (really sucks for me) other than that things are going great, everyone is healthy and I am really excited about getting back to tri training for the 09 season. I have found a triathlon training group in Savannah, Savannah Triathlon Club and I am going to hit the ground running (and cycling and swimming too) when I get there. Tybe Island is about 30 mins from our house so I will be getting in some ocean swims too. The only triathlon training drawbacks I have found so far is that EVERYTHING is flat in Savannah except the 17 bridge. I'll be coming back to Rowan county to ride when I come back to visit my mom a few times a month, got to keep my hill work going as Bandits takes no prisoners lol. I am looking forward to readng about your tri's in 2009 and I hope everyone in the group stays healthy and exceed your goals next year.
