Age Group Rank = 19/35
Pre-race routine:

Had lots of coffee and green tea this morning. Then figured I should probably eat a bowl of cereal for breakfast. Then I went to Tammy's house and rode w/ her and Glen to the race. Then met up with fellow BTers in the lobby! Great to meet you guys!!!!!! :)
Event warmup:

Nothing much - just stretched out a little. Said a few chants for my new knee. Jogged about 1/4 mile or so and loosened up a little.
Run
  • 24m 18s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 07m 50s  min/mile
Comments:

Wasn't running real hard since the last race I was in (oh yes, June 3rd 07 is the date I will always remember) I got really hurt. Well - I was already hurt but I just happened to tear the cartiage open durning the run
What would you do differently?:

Nothing - I started in the middle of the pack so those who were racing wouldn't have to run around me. Would have liked to have gone faster but I'll take it for being a recovering "gimp."
Post race
Warm down:

Grabbed 2 cookies, 1/2 bagel, 1/2 banana and 2 beers!!!!! (what, they were FREE)!!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Knee surgery 3 months ago.

Event comments:

Lots of fun - only my 3 race ever (2nd 5K).

Nice job, especially with a new knee.  I guess you now have officially broken it in!
