Pre-race routine:

got myself and the kids together. drove the kids to mom and dad's house for babysitting duty and made it over to the park with dh pete. registered, pee-ed several times, hung out with pete and erica and fretted a bit.
Event warmup:

i actually did jog down to the starting line, but that is all.

Comments:

ok, i know this is a january run, but it is called the hamitlon hangover for pitty sake, WATER would have been nice, there was not one water station throughout the entire course. i started out just fine and was passed alot but i knew i needed to keep my own or fizzle out. i know my first mile was 11:16 but then i really didn't pay too much attention other than i knew i was going to make my goal of doing it under an hour. i jockied back and forth with this cute but obviously slow guy, took some walk breaks but i must be running faster when i am running because i took A LOT of 1 minute walk breaks but still came out with the time i thought i would. i had my navy seals cadence going and scared the crap out of some poor other runner because i was yelling out the "WHO HA" and all that other stuff because it really gets the air in my lungs, i just didn't realize how loud i was yelling, OOPS.
What would you do differently?:

nothing, i am happy with my performance
Post race
Warm down:

had some water FINALLY, juice and a bagel and was just amazed at the top times of all the finishers. the winner did it in 26:15. and actually all the top 3 in each group did it in under 35 until we got to the women 40-49 age group. i was in awe!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

i'm slow

Event comments:

i wish they had more water

The lack of water must have been tough. Nice work, though, breaking an hour on the run.

Good job! Planned on running in this but ended up with a nasty cold and thought better of it. Good thing being there was no water.
