It's official: I qualified for Peaks to Portland! And a new pool 1 mile PR! Wahoo!

My new Zoot Zenith wetsuit was my inspiration for my qualifying swim today.  I kept thinking that I better swim like I was worthy of such a swank suit.

Pushed it harder than usual at the start and then started to even out my pace toward the end for another push at the finish.  Unfortunately, I missed one of Sherman's signals (he was giving me a red kick board every 500, then at 1700...) and ended up totally counting wrong.  When I was on my last lap, I thought I had another 250 to go!  And I had the energy to kick it into high gear for that extra 250, too... so felt terribly silly when I saw him walking to the side of the pool to stop the watch when I was 10 yards in...  but who cares, I did it!

Woo hoo!  This is the first time I've seen this side of 150 in a few years.  I'm hoping today's step on the scale isn't a fluke and continues the downward trend I've been working for.

Sold my Quintana Roo full suit on Craigslist yesterday for just under $100, so taking that cash and heading to Fast Splits after work tonight!  Yay, New Wetsuit Day!  And now that I'm down 10lbs from the beginning of the year, maybe I'll actually fit into one :)

At my bro's in Fishkill, NY this weekend.

Drove down to Cold Spring to jog along the Hudson since I couldn't find any interesting routes on BT that were near by me.

Planned on going 5k, but accidentally crossed onto military property and got intercepted by someone shooing me off the property at about a mile and a half. Tried to jog back, but she made me get in the car instead so she could drive back to lock the wide open gate I didn't notice all the signs on... doh!

My run was over before I even got warmed up... well, at least I got out there today! :)

too cold and rainy for a ride this morning.  taking a day off instead.
