WPS 1/2 Marathon today - Unofficial time and distance. I'll get the race report up once the official stats come in.
Pretty happy with this time, though. I know I was shooting for a 1:45, but that was the 'dream' goal. I was really just hoping to PR, which I did to the tune of over 3 minutes, so Yay!

Easy run with the Running Room crew today. Took it extra slow so as not to hinder tomorrow's halfer. Felt pretty good, other than my right calf was a little tight.

Enjoying a couple of planned rest days. Tomorrow I'll do an easy 4 with my running group, then giver nails on Sunday. I'm still hoping 1:45 but thinking 1:50. I'm planning on sticking with 10:1 walk breaks for the first 10k at least, then assessing from there. I don't want to throw a whole new wrench into my mary plans just for this 2ndary halfer.

Oh, signed up for a 10k race next Saturday, too. That one I'll have to be REALLY carefull not to overdo it on, since I've got a 20 miler the next day.

Last tempo run before mini-taper... 1/2 mary on Sunday!
So went out easy with Timmy (his knee's been bugging him) for the first mile and a half, then picked it up a bit. He turned around at 2.5 to go do his strides while I continued on for another .5 and back. Picked it up pretty good on the way back, especially considering the wind was in my face coming home and I still managed considerable negative splits. Hopefully I'm ready to race.
Picked up andrew with about 5k to go and we had a nice little chat... then I dropped him with about 1/2 a mile to go. Felt pretty good, actually!

"Walking" does not begin to describe the "Strollering" I did tonight, trying to shove a screaming Addison and an inconsolate Jackson around town. I think I burned twice the calories here than I did on my 6 mile run. :O

Went out for a quick run to see if my legs could still turn over.
Lost my gps at mile 2.44 for quite a bit, and I don't know how well this watch extrapolates my distance... may have gone slightly farther than 3.
Mile 1: 7:42
Mile 2: 7:54
Mile 3: 8:16... but that might be off... didn't feel like I slowed down that much, anyways.

Finally got a decent night's sleep! Man, did I need that. My legs are still pretty shot. That run yesterday seemed to have kicked the snot out of me.

Oh, the new shoes worked great, though! A little bit of blistering, but that's to be expected when you're stupid and take brand new shoes out on an 18 mile run. The only trouble I had was with the transition from running to walk breaks; they seemed to slip a little. Maybe I just need to tie them a little tighter.
