Well, not as fast as I wanted, but I'll certainly take it. Everything went fairly well till the wheels fell off at my arch nemisis Mile 17 again.

Slow and easy deuce the day before the big day.
Calves were a little stiff heading out, but they loosened up allright.
Really nervous again. Man, do I hate/love races.

Rest day 2. Off to the expo today to pick up my race package. I'm getting pretty excited. My first expo!
Rest day. I plan on doing nothing less vigourous than sharpening pencils today... although I do have a windup/party thing this evening. Guess I'll have to try to stay away from the hotdogs and beer as best I can.

Man, am I sick of pasta already!
Pretty good run today. Race pace minus the walk breaks. Went a little quicker than race pace, but so be it.

Starting to get tired at the end, but 5 minutes of recovery walking in there should help out alot.
Now it's just waiting until the big day, I guess. Wow!

3.5 race pace today. Decided to run 'race pace' without the walk breaks for today and tomorrow's run. That is, I'm planning to run at about an 8:45 pace, but then walk for 60 seconds every 10 minutes... should even out to about a 9:05 pace or so. I'm just skipping the walk breaks right now so I can hammer that pace into my step.
Felt pretty good tonight. HR stayed zone 2 for the most part.

Rats! Forgot my shoes at home today. GRRRRR! Guess I've gotta try to find some time tonight to get my run in. Only 3.5 race pace today, but it's still pretty tough to find that time once I get home in the evening.

Gotta remember to bring my old runners to work for occasions such as these.
