Old 1-Martha's Chapel-Davis

Saw Jim on the ride. Stopped for a minute to chat and let him show me his new bike. He was very excited about his new "TT bike." He keeps on calling it that. It's a Specialized but I don't know what model or anything. I'm not sure what his plans are for it since he does not tri and he does not race. I guess it's just that all the cool kids have bikes that go aero. Anyway, he's excited and I appreciate his enthusiasm.

I keep on hearing about the cantaloupe-related listeria outbreak.  It makes me a little freaked out since I bought cantaloupe on Sunday and ate it on Tuesday only to hear about the listeria thing on Wednesday morning.  I'm almost positive that the sticker on it said California though.  Should be OK.

Short run off the bike

Myrtle or Donna?

I would like to run a marathon in February and I am thinking of either the Myrtle Beach marathon or 26.2 with Donna in Jacksonville.  I did Donna last year and it was a good event.  Myrtle Beach is closer to home so would be a much easier drive.  Donna was fun and I can wear shorts, Myrtle is closer and has pace groups.  What to do?

Early morning walk with Emma. 3.1 miles in 43:23. Getting the cobwebs out of the legs after yesterday's long run ;-)

AM:  Once again, it's training plan Monday!  Next weekend should be my max weekend -- not sure what the weekend after will look like...

PM:  New training block received.  Coach said one more big training weekend in this peak training phase.

This run was a little bit disappointing. I felt like I held it together pretty well for the first 10 miles or so but not as well for the remainder of the run. I understand the theory behind running on tired legs but today it just felt frustrating.

Old Lystra-Lower River Road
1870 climbing feet on the MapMyRide scale. This was a solo ride.

Good ride! I had fun :-) It was misty/drizzly for the first hour or so but by the half way point the sun was peaking out every now and then. Lower River road is hillier than I remembered -- or maybe it just seems hilly after riding four hours before getting there.

I stopped twice for water -- at mile 30 and mile 60 (Wilsonville both times). Otherwise, I was on the bike pedaling!

On this ride I ate fig newton (vending machine size package), Clif bar, Honey Stinger Waffle, Clif bar, milk n cereal bar. All went down well. My body either thought the Honey Stinger Waffle was a gel or it was just lunchtime because I was hungry shortly after eating it. I tried to eat about every hour but shortened the time between waffle and bar. I drank Camelbak Elixir (2 bottles) and water. 1050 total calories.

This was my third 100 mile ride since Tour de Cure in June.  I did a double century BikeMS weekend and this ride.  I have another 100+ mile ride next week for four this IM training cycle.
