Travel day back to KC after a few meetings this morning. After reaching KC I drove straight through to Lawrence to do my packet pick-up for KS70.3. Back at home, once some QT was spent with the family I went to work installing a new aero bottle on my bike, by the time that was done it was late and wasn't too worried about not getting in a short bike ride.

A short Branson run on the landing. 100% humidity outside; couldn't see the river I was running next to due to the fog.

A couple of trips back and fourth from my hotel to the convention center, and misc.

I was headed out of town to Branson for a conference, but decided to hit the pool on the way out of town. I was cutting it close for time because I had to be on the road at a certain time, but it looked like convenient access to a pool while in town was going to be questionable at best.

In high school I looked forward to taper week, now older and in triathlon I no longer find any joy in it. I want to skip all workouts and the ones that I begrudgingly do suck. Right now I don't feel tapered, I feel undertrained and have doubts about this weekend.

Busy and long day. Church, suit shopping for work, car exchange with in-laws, grocery store, laundry, take kids to the park, and general parental duties occupied my day. I didn't get to run until 9:00 pm and by that time I had reduced my run to a 5 miler. Breaking in a new pair of shoes; same model as before.

Found some time during the afternoon to get a quick ride in. Up to Prairie Star and Clare, and then back. My Garmin was acting a little weird. First my auto pause kept clicking on, so I shut it off but then I found out that was because I was losing satellite coverage. I had to power it off/on twice to correct this. Time, speed and distance are slightly off as a result.

Walking in the AHA Heart Walk. I should get double points for carrying a 4 year old girl half the time.
