Ran while were we camping in the Presidential Mt Range. We were staying at Dolly Copp so I ran the Pinkham B road from camp over to Rt 2. The distance was only 8.8 but the vertical was a killer. It occurred to me as I was running that there were do not feed the bears signs throughout camp for a reason. It was a unique experience to run in such an evironment. The only wildlife I encountered was an eagle. I recognized the cry and the massive wingspan. I stayed on the country road and never came close to the eagle - it was still inspiring.

Actually did a 5k before swimming and after swimming but this log will not let me record it that way. I put the other 5k on yesterday's log

Did an open water swim. The lake was really congested so we had to hug the coastline. Spent 15 minutes doing TI drills

Ran inside on the treadmill. Had my Polar on and compared the data it gave me to the treadmill data. As long as I stayed below 6 MPH (or a 10 minute split) the data was identical. Once my pace improved beyond that point, the distance on the Polar was higher than the treadmill.

Swam at the Y tonight. Had fast swimmer in the lane next to me so I began doing easy 50 then a hard 50. The hard 50 was my attempt to pace with the other swimmer. The interval training def got my heart rate up higher. I am hoping to increase my speed.

Found out today that I got a spot at the Marine Corp Marathon through the Armed Forces Foundation! I am psyched!
