Really happy, thrilled actually, with this run this morning... the day after a 100 mile ride. My legs feel great, maybe it's because of the new geometry, maybe it's because of overall fitness gains or a combination of both, but I feel really good.
I was originally thinking of douing a really easy 10/mile pace for an hour just as recovery, but as I loosened up over the course of the first mile, I decided that since it's been a while since I did a tempo run, I should do one this morning.
The weather was good, a little humid and damp, but the cool temps made it bearable. I ran 35 minutes at a fairly easy pace then 15 minutes at tempo pace followed by a 10 minute cool down.
First real ride on the new bike and I am totally in love with it. It's amazing what a difference this bike makes.
So this is the first long ride on the new bike. I am totally impressed with it. It's amazing wha I can do on this bike and on a bike that I think really, truly fits me. It's a very comfortable ride and the gear set up makes it a climbing champion. We did the hill on cr 51 three times and I did the climb three different ways. On the third time up, I tried sitting the whole way and I didn't run out of gears which is a real confidence builder. Even going up the hill on Cedar Rd by the beach ( one of the steepest hills I've ever ridden) I didnt use all of the gears.
