10:30am start. Perfect day for a bike ride! Temps in the 60's and sunny. I felt really good until about mile 30. Then I was getting hungry for lunch. I knew I only had about 10 more miles to go and was hoping a fresh bottle of Gatorade would see me through. It didn't. Around mile 35 I turned into the wind. Then I reached a section of some bad chip seal road with a headwind. Then there was a section of uphill chip seal with a headwind. My tail was draggin' by the time I got to the end.
7am lap swim.
100y breast, 1000y free continuous, 100y breast.
Read some more about technique and I think I am doing this better. At least I felt like it was harder than the last time so that is good.
a.m. commute: 1:11:34, 17.90 miles, 15 mph average. Finally able to get my butt moving early enough to take a longer route into work. Beautiful morning! Saw a very chubby muskrat waddling alongside my neighbor's pond.
p.m. commute: 23:37, 5.64 miles, 14.3 mph average. Legs dead. Windy!
a.m. commute. 23:57, 5.63 miles, 14.1 mph average.
p.m. commute. 56:41, 13.93 miles, 14.75 mph average.
Not the planned miles, but at least some miles. Was going to do the longer route in the a.m., but it was pretty foggy early so I chose the shorter route. I was wanting to do a 20-25 mile ride on the way home, but I left work late and then had to run into town to do an errand before heading home. So the first couple miles on the ride home were in stop and go traffic, but I didn't separate them out.

BORING! All I could think about was how nice it was outside and how I should be outside working out.
Tried some pool running this morning. Don't know if I was doing it properly or not, but I was doing something.
11:30am Hot and breezy ride. I love my bike. Nice loop south and east of home. Coming down a hill I had to brake for a deer. Probably passed about 15 feet in front of me. That collision would have ruined my day.
Lotsa weed whacking in the morning before it got too hot.
