  • RACE DAY: Horribly Hilly Hundreds 200K

 Blog blog blog.  Bloggety blog.  I was looking back at my training from 2007 and I blogged a lot more then than I do now.  So here is some more blogging.

Tri Wis board meeting last night involved many pitchers of margaritas and some exciting event and schwag planning.  Watch for fun new gear in the next couple weeks!  After that, I packed and spammed the Wisconsin forum with a few threads asking for help packing and generally being "helpful" to others.  It was fun.  For me.

Lightning and thunder kept me up late last night thinking about how fun it was dealing with a flooded basement last June.  Fortunately all is dry this a.m.  More storms coming through this afternoon though so I'm not totally relaxed yet.

The bikes are on the car getting rained on at the moment.  I spent a couple hours on Wed night cleaning the Felt.  Sitting still it is just getting rained on.  But if we drive in the rain later my beautiful clean bike will get grimy.  Crap.  Also, I think my chain is in need of replacement.  About 3,400 miles on it including most of the hilly stuff I've done the last couple years.  Don't have a tool to measure it but I can bend it side to side more than I think I should be able to.  That's on the to do list for next week.

Looking forward to the challenge of HHH tomorrow.  Hoping to head up to Manitowoc on Sunday to watch the crit:  http://www.maritimebayclassic.com/

Lunchtime easy run. Felt okay but not too energetic. Toasty warm!

Stopped at Trader Joe's last night to stock up with good food.  Dinner was salmon and pasta with fresh veggies.  This a.m., granola with blueberries, blackberries, and organic yogurt.  Trader Joe's is great.

Spent an hour and a half polishing up the road bike last night.  Cleaned off the bugs smooshed on the front end from it's ride on the roof rack a few weeks ago, cleaned and lubed the drive train, and cleaned and put on the 12-27 in prep for HHH.  Clean bikes are pretty.

Going to replace the bar tape in the next couple weeks.  Already have black and blue options.  Do I go black, or go blue and then replace the tires with blue ones when they get retired this summer?  Raw aluminum and carbon bike.  Discuss.
