Commute To Work
Rode with Peyton to school. We left a little late and he just missed getting in the school door before they locked it. I had to bring him in through the office. This has my speed & HR really low.

How to become an Asics wear-tester: Send an email to: Use Brice Newton as your reference. I'm not sure how they select people or if I will even receive any shoes to test, but they did respond promptly with some forms for me to fill out and return to them to be put into their database.

Wow, I actually feel very comfortable and focused in the OW now. I believe I've kicked my OW swimming ADD. This was the last TNT OWS, so it will probably be my last non-race OWS of the year.

I did take it easy on the first length as we were partnered up and I waited a few times.

Had the Garmin in the swim cap again and I did a really good job of going straight this time.

[blue] Freakin' smoke detector kept going off last night. It took me a while to figure out which one it was as it would only alarm for about 10 secs and anywhere between 30 min and 1hour between alarms. Once I found it, I ripped it off the ceiling. I guess I'll go to Home Depot this weekend and replace it. I'm exhausted, but will go for a swim at Lake Grapevine and then back to work to teach a course at 9:30pm. [/blue]

Commute To Work
Cool morning communte. Temps were in the 60's. Wonderful start to the day.

Commute Home
Again, wonderful weather for the ride home, although the wind made my effort a bit higher than I planned.

[blue] One year ago, my first commute of my responsible (post college) life. My commute was: 56:34 13.78 miles 14.60 mph AveHR: 173 MaxHR: 188 Todays commute was: 1:00:55 16.62 miels 16.4 mph AveHR: 148 MaxHr: 171 I'll add that my route of my first commut was a much more direct route and did not weave in and out of neighborhoods like I do today. What a difference a year makes.[/blue]

Last hard run before Texas Man as my taper starts tomorrow. This was a 2 mile real hard, steady effort. I'm really getting excited about running again and will probably sign up for the WRL half marathon.

This run deserves a table:

[blue] Was supposed to ride to work today, but my upper body is really sore from working on the deck & swimming and I had a meeting and was dragging a$$ this morning. Over the weekend I sent an email to be a wear tester for Asics America. Today, I received an email from them with a few documents to fill out and return via snail mail. Basically, they welcomed me as a wear-tester, but said that this was no guarantee I would actually receive any shoes to test. [/blue]

Swim in the indoor lap pool. The rain caused it, but I figured a change to the 25 meter pool would give me a different perspective.

I swam one 1800m set and cooled down for 200m.

I started this run just going through the motions getting through a 4 miler or so. But, then I started my warmup and felt great and decided to make this my long run. Overall HR was low compared to RPE, I guess balancing out yesterday's run.

2 mi. WU (10 bpm below Z1 top)
4 mi. Z2
1 mi. Z1

[blue] Long day today. Started out putting the toilet back in after getting the candy container Lauren (2 yr old) flushed down. Then, I worked a bit on my car and got it back on the road and then helped the TNT coach to build a deck. I came real close to just ditching my run, but went out anyway. I'm sure glad I did. It also hit me during my run that the 20k TT yesterday was a perfect LT TT tet for me. Looking back at my graph, it puts my LT at 184, 1bpm lower than what it was in Feb.[/blue]
