Why can I not sleep past 7 any more? Sigh.

Rest day today and tomorrow. Nothing but wall to wall football both days.

4AM recovery run. Didn't expect or try to keep my FIRST marathon long pace of 8:25-8:39 per mile. Legs are still a little pooped.

Ran past the park out to Hwy 5, then through downtown McKinney and back home. Overall felt ok, just sluggish.

Splits:
Mile 1 - 8:19 (HR 155)
Mile 2 - 8:37 (HR 149)
Mile 3 - 8:36 (HR 154)
Mile 4 - 9:02 (HR 159)
Mile 5 - 8:54 (HR 157)
Mile 6 - 9:20 (HR 162)
Mile 7 - 9:07 (HR 158)
Mile 8 - 9:16 (HR 161)
Mile 9 - 9:19 (HR 156)
Mile 10 - 9:27 (HR 157)
Mile 11 - 9:45 (HR 159)
Mile 12 - 10:00 (HR 158)

4AM CLUB RULES! Technically, the alarm went off at 3:55, but who's counting.

I don't think I've quite recovered from Sunday yet, going to take the next 2 days off and start up again on Monday.

On another note, we discovered last night that Houston is allergic to Penicillin. Good times.

Drills, drills, drills...

400 WU

4x100 (50 tips, 50 free)
4x100 (50 1 arm swim, 50 free)
400 CD

I will become a better swimmer. I will become a better swimmer. I will become a better swimmer. Sunday's swim was better than Ironhead, but still, it's slower than I want it to be.

Maybe I need to get Shannon's swim coach to help me out. Having somebody look at me (preferably without laughing) might be what I need. I know my arms are going herky-jerky once they're in the water, I just can't seem to fix it.

Easy recovery ride around Stonebridge tri course.

Run

  • 5.00 miles
  • 09m 37s /Mi

Easy recovery jog. No soreness, but not much energy either. Heavy legs.

Splits:
9:15 (126 HR)
9:25 (140 HR)
9:37 (136 HR)
9:36 (142 HR)
10:08 (138 HR)

Easy run and hopefully easy bike at lunchtime or a drainer ride. Houston had his 15 month shots yesterday, so we'll see if he feels up to going to daycare today.

Ponderment of the day - if you do an Iron Distance event (not necessarily an "Ironman" race like IMAZ, something like the Redman Tri up on OKC), are you still considered an Ironman?

  • Health data: RHR: 56 Hours slept: 6.5

Prairieman race report and pics are up. Should have more pics when the 2 folks who were kind enough to take some of me after our camera was fried send them to me.

One more day off today, then it's back to marathon training. Yippee. 9 more weeks till my first marathon. And as Aaron pointed out Sunday, 356 more days till I'm 31.

704pm - Going nuts not having worked out in two days. I know it's probably better for me to relax after going farther than ever before on Sunday, but crap! I'm antsy for some exercise.

A bit sore today, but nothing too bad. I think I counted 4 blisters from yesterday. Well worth it though.
