Easy swim in the lake. Choppy. Very choppy.

Here in OKC. Very windy right now. Supposed to calm down tonight though.

All the stuff starts up about 4. Going to get a nap in sometime today and then turn everything in.

The work is done. Time to have some fun.

530AM. Skipped the entire main set today. It was pretty funny. Mike is tapering for the half on Saturday, and Scotty didn't feel like swimming much. So we were done by 6. Spent the rest of the time swapping racing stories while all the shorter distance lanes, who usually are done 15 minutes or so before we are, kept swimming. I dunno, I thought it was funny. Guess you had to be there.

Dave - "There's no doubt in my mind you'll finish. The question is how much fun you will have."

Heading to OKC after Shannon's folks get here after work. Looks like I'm going to completely miss A&M-Miami game tonight. Probably going to be pulling into OKC by the time it ends. Shucks. Maybe one of you can give me a call when it's over and let me know what happened.

Feeling ready. Legs are well rested, blister is just about healed. Bags are just about packed. This is where the fun begins.

For those of you who want to keep track of me on Saturday, they are going to be doing raceday web coverage here, updated every 3 minutes. You should be able to see the following splits:

  • Swim
  • T1
  • Bike
    • 28 miles
    • 56 miles
    • 84 miles
    • 112 miles
    • Bike total

    • 6.6 miles
    • 13.1 miles
    • 19.8 miles
    • 26.2 miles
    • Run Total
  • Finish time

I'm bib number 122. This is the first year they've done this, so it may be a little flaky. Still, I think it's great for a small race to do web tracking like this.

530AM. Boy did this seem short. Nice to be tapering. While everyone else was doing the second set of the main set (same thing, but with paddles and pull buoy), I got to talk to Dave about strategy for Friday and Saturday. Nice to have a 9 time Ironman tell you that your race plan sounds good.

11AM. 80s, S 15mph wind.

Easy ride on my road bike since Companero is getting a tuneup. Just went around the neighborhood and to the park and back. Put in a couple of 20 second sprints.

Road bike felt way different than the tri bike. I had no idea there was that much difference in the geometry. Wow.

Not much change with Shannon's grandfather. Don't have much of an update.

It's race week.'s THE RACE week. Holy cow! It's almost here. Lots of stuff to get ready.
