Walked tomorrow's race course with the kids. I'm glad I did...all the mile-markers and course direction arrows are for the half-marathon and marathon only. I'm pretty excited...even though this is only a C-race for me.

New Franklin to Ware's Crossroad to Mooty Bridge, crossover at Walmart back to New Franklin.

Feels good to be "back in the saddle again". First real bike ride this month. Slow...but expected. At least my bike didn't fall apart. Looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow morning and resting up a bit for the race on Sunday. Picking up my race packet and and going over the course is also on the agenda.

A little better than my swim workout on Tuesday. Supposed to end with 3 x 300 and 5 x 200...not only am I too slow at this point to fit that in in the hour I have, my form (for what it is) was falling apart during that second 300. Still, an encouraging workout, though. Looking forward to a 16 mile bike ride tomorrow morning...then a day of rest Saturday and a 5K race on Sunday.

Track

Once again...not quite what I'd planned. Was up late last night working on my bike. Finally got my front derailleur fixed. Stayed on the small chain ring intentionally this morning. Supposed to be working on high cadence/proper form (whatever that is). Felt kind of sluggish on the track. It was good to get back on the bike. Now I just need to keep it up. Note to self...5 hours is NOT enough sleep.

Attempted my first "real" swim workout since starting TI. My pace is VERY slow. My planned workout was quite a bit different from what I was able to do. Tried to do a 300 right after the 5 x 50's...I was dying. I regrouped with another 50, then something clicked. I guess I figured out how to breathe again...or something. Then I was able to do the 300. I could have done more, but it was getting late and I had to get to work. Should be better next time.
