So this guy I went out with - has no kids, never been married, in the insurance/underwriting industry. Is a little on the quiet side, but we had a lot to talk about in terms of music, travel and life in general. We have plans for dinner Saturday night. I forever have low expectations, so we'll see!

Working from home today and getting increasingly frustrated with a volunteer role I took on for a regional industry board. There are two ladies in particular who have an inerrant need to control everything but yet not in their area of responsibility. Like they 100% of the time have opinions or change requests on things that don't materially matter - just picky as shit comments. Today I started calling them out on it  in an attempt to lower my workload. I literally spent most of the morning on what should have been a simple email to members about registering for a webinar.

Lunch treadmill - can still "feel" the ankle but able to run. Praise be! (I'm on season 3 of Handmaid's Tale, can you tell? lol)

This felt super good as I'm feeling bloated and frumpy today. Part of that is the drinks and staying out late last night, but I think the other part is I made a really salty soup this week not realizing HOW salty it was until it was too late. I think the sodium is just bloating the crap out of me. The soup TASTES great - it's a Whole30 Zupa Toscana knock off (Olive Garden?) that has italian sausage, turkey bacon, potatoes, onion and kale in a stock/coconut milk base. DELICIOUS, but when I tried to mask the coconut flavor I dumped way too much extra salt in. Probably didn't need ANY with the other salty content. Lesson learned.

Skipped my trainer ride last night in lieu of a first date! Guy was promising. We had great conversations for like 5 hours. He's my age and lives really close (a prerequisite for dating in Atlanta LOL!). Got home late last night so am dragging today.

Adding in some events to my 2020 calendar ^^ that I think I'll be doing. The one I'm super interested in is the Madison OWS, which I did in 2010 and saw that 2020 is the last year for the event. This would be "peak week" for training, so I'd also hop on the bike course for a casual 7-hour ride. IF I can find a tri bike to rent or borrow as I'd be flying and don't have any interest in lugging my bike across the country solo. Anyone in the area willing to lend me one? I'm 5'6" and think I rode a 51 before my "small" Trek.

Today is Ellie Mae's GOTCHA DAY! I got her a year ago today and it was the best decision. She's SUCH a good dog, and a good dog for me. My little sassy sausage <3

Longer test run. I could feel my ankle every step so took it way easy. Pine cones everywhere lol! Did a mile out and back, then ran Ellie Mae up to the mailbox before walking back. Nice to be outside even though it wasn’t quite 50 degrees.

Friday night swimming.. and my ankle is markedly better! I was able to do normal swimming and didn’t have to only pull the whole time. Whoop!

Had some mild pain in my ankle all night - not sure if I pushed too hard on the trainer or if that's part of the normal healing process. The bruising on the side of the ankle is almost gone, but had a blue blob spread onto the top of my foot this week - weird. Walking 95% normal now - just going down stairs are a little slow still. Planning on a more substantial run tomorrow but not sure how far I should push it. 2-3 miles?

Had my 2019 performance review this morning - heavy contributions from my former boss and then a bit from my new boss. Ended up with a "superior" rating, which is a step above "successful" - which will likely mean a better than average raise come March. My new boss is so great - she mentioned that since she knows how I prefer to receive praise, she included quips from an email one of my new senior stakeholders sent when I was interviewing for the role. It was so neat to see the things she had said about me. It's really nice to have a leader who pays attention to those kids of things and flexes her leadership style. What a concept

Last random-ness for the day - nerdy nerd nerd style. Here's the volume graph for my IMWI training plan. I think it's in a good place - thoughts?
