Let me first say that a fellow could not have more encouragement from his racing compadres and it really is a great part of the deal with this forum. Thanks guys. Perfect day for racing. My mind/heart/lungs wanted to go 3:15 today. My feet/ankles only had 3:38:15 in them. I'll say no more except that I went through the half at 1:41; and then 20miles at 2:36 - do the math and you can see there was a huge blowup in the last 6miles. Some days you get the bear. Some days the bear gets you. In act of sadism, we're headed off to Disney tonight where I can spend the next three days on my feet. Oy.

I have an ART session tomorrow to clean up any residual knots but am basically healthy for Saturday. Weather looks to be favorable.. No excuses.

I've always wanted 'Zen Master' to be my nickname, but it would just be a lie.

I took my kids and a couple of their friends to see Muse/Silversun Pickups on Sat. Firstly, Gwinnett Arena is a far better place to see a show than Philips - 2/3's the size, no parking charge, superior acoustics. Sold out show - place basically delirious for Muse. How 3 musicians plus a keyboard player can make so much sound is pretty incredible - If I didn't know better, I would have assumed it was partly pre-recorded. Major league chops/Decent stage dynamic - they're the real deal. Light show was the most intense I hve ever seen in 30+ years of going to shows - It was like seeing YES in 1976 w/out pot smoke and people tripping out of their minds. My kids were beside themselves w/happiness. Mission Accomplished. Silversun Pickups were the more interesting act to me..They're only a year or so removed from the indie rock club scene and it'll be worth following them to see if they make a bridge to the next level.

SCT - spun as easily as I could to save legs for Sat - Worked some parts of the ride but basically took it easy and didn't get hysterical when a couple of other riders passed me - Just as well, too..My right arm rest came loose and lost a bolt in front..I undid the one that was left and rode home out of my aerobars..Mr. Kuota is headed to the shop this week for an overhaul.
