found a few hills, some by accident

Well enough of basking in a good result, time to move on to the next challenge. The next challenge I believe is going to be Camp Whitcomb-Mason. This means no Oshkosh, which I have done for 4 years in a row. A little bummed because it is always one of my favorites. However family schedule would not really work with Oshkosh. Kids leave for camp on that Sunday afternoon and being closer to home makes a lot more sense.  Plus I will get a ringside seat to the big Scooby/Benson show down.

Most likely a bike tonight...probably with some hills.

UPDATE: saw none other than Terry Labinski out on this ride. He even returned my wave.  Odd thing? He was wearing his team jersey. Should I be wearing the Donkey colors at all times?

Holy crap, how did that happen?  Last year: 2:57:40. This year 2:43:20. PR in a big way, even with bike being about a 1/2 mile longer (and hillier) than last year.  ITs about f-in time.

OWS Ottawa

Just a little ez, wetsuit-less swim at ottawa.  Family came along and sat on beach and played in the water. Buoys were out, but without wetsuit I stuck inside swimming area.  I will give it my best tomorrow and have fun and what ever the results, so be it.

Kind of in a wierd place mentally as I adjust to new work life, our student going home and the prospect of race in a season filled with disapointment so far. I want to do well and have a good race, but quite frankly I'm not holding out a lot of hope. I know I need to change my attitude if I am to have success, but I feel like I'm swimming up stream.

Plan is for a short OWS, if I don't get thunderstormed out.

Sad day in our house as we say adios to our student.  Will do short session of bike, run or swim or some combo of those.;)

UPDATE race pace effort on bike helped by two roadies that passed me on trail as I slowed for an intersection. I caught them and then rode their tails for 3 miles, until I had to turn around. Thanks guys for the motivation.  ;)

Most likely a rest day both out of necessity of schedule and for taper week.  Farwell party for the Spanish exchange students tonight. I haven't talked much about our student, but she has been great. Perfect fit for our family and we are really going to miss her.
