Awesome. Was going to go to track to do my speed session, but there was a football game. My 13 year old had decided to come with. I said, why don't we go to trail and she wanted to run. She ran the whole thing and this is at least a mile longer than she has ever gone. I am way proud of her!

Ok I'll admit it, I am starting to freak a bit about the 50k. I have put in plenty of miles, but I don't think enough (and not as many as Disney). I have put in lots of trail miles, but wish I could have put in more. I think, well it is only another 5 miles on top of a marathon. Then I think, well things usual get tough at about 21-23, which means I have to suffer like that for 8-10 miles. Oh goody, just 11 more days of this...

Legs were fatigued from the start and never got better. Feeling residual from Saturday's race more than I thought. Really all my 20+ runs during this training cycle (I think there have been 6) have been pretty uninspiring. Although when I think about it none have been on fresh legs. They all came a day after (or in this case two days after) a 10-15 mile session. That strategy paid off for Disney and I'm hoping it pays off for Northface. Good news about this run, is it was not some epic blow up. While I did slow down on way back, it was just simple fatigue.

Not a PR, but not bad. Felt this was more a math problem than a fitness problem. Started out very comfortable pace (32:04 after 4 miles) Then sped up, but apparently not enough. Once I got to 10 realized it was going to be tough to PR, pushed the pace some more, but not enough race left.
results: 72 out 457 overall and 9 out of 29 for old guy (45-49) division.
