My first 1/2 marathon! My target time was 2:00 even, but I finished at 2:06 mostly due to a pain in my left hip after mile 11. I was really happy with my pace and HR up to that point. Overall I think it was a good first 1/2, and I look forward to bettering this time in the future. After checking the race results: I WON MY AGE GROUP!!! (61/91 overall)

First workout on my new trainer. 25 minutes (one TV show) IT works well, feels different. Certainly more work pedalling the trainer than riding outside, although not by much. Today is monthly fish fry night. Usually a guys night out to drink and play cards. I have to behave tonight because of my run tomorrow.

Got stuck working 6:30am to 1am. No time for a workout today.

Bought a Kurt Kinetic Roadmachine today. I got home late, but set it up anyways and went for a 10 minute spin. It seems to hold my bike well, but the tire would slip on hard accelerations. I will try tightening the roller a bit more next time. First observation is that it doesn't seem to offer near as much resistance as riding on the road. This was a pretty short first trial session, and I did not reference my cadence, maybe I wasn't working hard enough.

Well, over the course of the weekend I seem to have gotten rid of the cold that I had last week. We'll see how I feel after V-ball and a run tonight.
