Results of Sunday's canoe race were finally posted.  The Race Report is done.
We (the wife, dogs and I) were 4th of 38 boats, and paddled a personal best of 51 minutes flat for 5 miles.  That beat our old record by a full 5 minutes for the same course.  Nothing to complain about there!

Basically a Z2 Oly in training today.  It felt good.

Easy Z2 Swim
Skipped my longer planned workout. I ate too much food (long story) and kept belching in the pool. It was not comfortable, so I eased it back, and cut it a bit short.

Swimming tonight might be tough.  It's my turn to cook supper for the Kinsmen Club of Sarnia.  I'm still hoping to sneak in a swim later though.

This was my wife's first road ride in 12+ years, and her first ride on her new bike. So far so good, no crashes, no problem with the clipless pedals, and a nice speed. I hope that trend continues.

Z3 run

So much for my heavy volume week.  It's Tuesday, and I haven't done any of my scheduled training yet.  Frustrating.

Changed the fuel pump in the wife's car last night.  Still didn't fix the problem.  Argh, now what do I do?

I'm tired and sunburned from the canoe race yesterday, but looking forward to a good workout today.  A friend of mine is sorta trying to convince me to do a 1/2IM in July.  The scary part is that I am really thinking about it.  What to do, what to do?

I worked on the wife's car all night.  Changed fuel pumps again.  It's back to normal it seems, but there really is no noticable difference.  I'm concerned that it will leave her on the side of the road again, it's only a matter of when?  Frustrating, I really wanted to get a workout in.

Time is an estimate. We didn't get our official time and will have to wait for the results to be posted online. We did finish 4 out of 38 boats. I think we had a good race, but just couldn't stay with the leaders. We definitely need more time in the canoe if we are going to race. This was our first time in the boat this year. Race report will follow when I get the correct times.

First race of the season is today.  (5 mile Canoe race)
I behaved last night, and didn't drink too much or stay out too late.  So I am feeling good this morning.  Wife went to bed early last night, and is still sleeping.  I hope she is up to the challenge today.  I really think we can make a run for the front of the race this year.  Wish us luck.

Scheduled day off.  If I wasn't so busy today I probably would have trained a bit.  This is the nicest day we have had yet this year.

I took my sister-in-law for an eye appointment today.  It was a followup to laser surgery.  She is fine.

My wife got her final fit, and picked up her new Felt F4C today.  (Pic is in my album)
It really seems to fit her well.  I hope she really likes it.

The rest of the day was a small gathering for the mother-in-law's birthday, and dinner/cards with the neighbours.

Supposed to be a day off, but tomorrow is looking so busy that I might move tomorrows workout to today, and then take tomorrow off.  

I'm scared to step on the scale today.  Two day's ago I finally weighed in under 240 lbs for the first time in a long time.  It seems I have been stuck at 240-241 FOREVER.   I would like to be down close to 230lbs by June.  I am running out of time to do that unless I start seeing more movement shortly.
